ASHRAF EL-HADY ,EGYPTIAN ARTIST .
Ashraf EL-Hady employs a refined and detailed intaglio process to achieve complex, surrealistic compositions .His work has a psychological direction . Human anatomy and everyday objects appear transmuted as if by the release of impulses and emotions form the subconscious. In Women from the South (gallery 1) twisting feminine forms emanate from the protuberant, slumped head of a male torso clothed in a striped waistcoat. All are faceless.Wrapped and bound by intricate folds, the figures twist and coil. The tension between static torsion and flame-like motion suggests to burst imprisoning restraints. With delicately etched line, EL-Hady achieves a verisimilitude that confers a subtle illusion of reality on a disturbing hallucination . Joan Richardson .Critic Arts, from the International printmaking Cooperatives Symposium ,Edmonton Canada 1997. |

Getting Places in Venice
This picture shows some of the boats that act as lifelines for the citizens of Venice. Venice is famous for its gondolas, which work well for traveling on shallow water, but, in reality, residents travel using motorboats--the always-black gondolas are reserved for tourists. |
Beginning Photography Tips
Make sure you have the correct film for what you're trying to do. For example, 400, a faster speed, is more suitable for action shots than 200. To become more of a photographer than a person snapping pictures, do some slightly different things with your composition. For example, try placing subjects off-center, using natural lines or frames, or taking the picture from a different angle.

ABOUT THE WORKS
.
I have seen your paintings with pleasure and I have appreciated them: you are a very good painter, in my opinion. What I like more is the quality of your realy beautiful and exciting palette (in italian we say tavolozza): it is full of energy and in the same time well balanced. It is interesting to see your fresh and bright colours used togheter with the aggressive forms coming from the? I do not remember the English word? in Italian we say graffitisti. I do not know if your paintings are in order of time, but if it is like that, I noticed that something is changed during the years: the colours are now often gloomy and the human forms disappeared: I suppose that you do not feel the signs of American writers totally yours, so you decided to use forms coming mainly from the nature as those forms are neares to your sensitiveness. It seems to me that you are still not completely satisfied by the new forms that you are using now. Probably you are looking for something which is very hidden in yourself: it seems that in your soul there is no place for the human beings, only for the nature. Can you accept that? Your dark side asks to be recognized by yourself. About the colours, I hope that you will find a solution where the sad colours which you are often using now and the gay ones that you used in the beginning can live togheter. It seems to me that there are some paintings where a great solution is very close.
